How we began
Women of Color Global was born from listening
Throughout history, women have gathered to talk about their days and share their experiences. Communities formed. Dreams and ideas came to life.
In 2014, we opened a beauty supply shop. Folks would stop by, look around, and pick up what they needed. Many stayed awhile to sit, talk, and share pieces of their lives. We listened to stories about their children, their work, their struggles, and their hopes.
What began as casual conversations slowly grew into small community gatherings. Women came together to talk about education, wellness, leadership, opportunity, and how to better support one another.
Again and again, we heard the same message: women wanted connection, support, and a place where they felt heard. Those conversations stayed with us. We realized that if the space didn’t exist, it was time to create it.
– Carrie Williams and Karen Harper, Founders
Conversation became connection.
Connection became community.
Women of Color Global was founded on the belief that when women come together with purpose, powerful change can happen.

Jeanine's Beauty Supply
Where it all happened. And still does. More than a beauty supply shop, it's a place where friendships are built, stories are shared, and community continues to grow.
Come on by. The conversation’s usually already started. Or just stop in and say hi.

A Night Out that Gives Back
Grab a ticket, dress the theme, and enjoy an evening of dinner and performance inspired by iconic figures, venues, and moments from Black American history and culture.
Whether attending a Harlem Renaissance Mystery Dinner or spending a night in the audience at the Apollo, proceeds from each event help fund our annual Juneteenth Celebration.

Juneteenth Celebration
More than a celebration of emancipation from slavery, this day honors the collective history, power, and resilience of Black Americans — past, present, and future.
The annual event begins with a march-in and prayer, followed by speakers, performances, music, activities, food, and community. Admission to this all-day event is free.

Women of Color is a great outreach program. This program helps navigate women and support women to move forward with their future endeavors. This is a great movement if you are looking to inspire another sister or looking for a sense of belonging. #sisterhood
